Car Free Day 2017

Car Free Day was an initiative taken by the Dubai Municipality for the first time in 2010, which is considered the first of its kind in the region, aiming to make Dubai a global sustainable city and to prove its commitment towards the relevant international environmental conventions, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This being the 8th edition of the Dubai Car Free Day, BLUE participated in this initiative for 6 years consecutively, engaging its employees to go “Car Free” on that specific day. With more than 35 employees taking part in this initiative, BLUE has helped contribute to reduce CO2 emissions by 177kg.

Additionally, as part of the Car Free Day exhibition, BLUE showcased its new technology called ZERO which converts food waste into grey water that can be safely disposed of down the drain, hence, eliminating the use of transportation to landfill to dispose food waste from various food establishments as well as residential real estate.
